Leading Through Change
BCBGATHOME
Reimagining Brand Storytelling During Uncertainty
When the pandemic disrupted traditional retail and content production, BCBG needed a new way to stay connected with customers. What began as a digital engagement initiative evolved into a scalable creator content strategy that kept the brand relevant during an unprecedented moment.
The Opportunity
As stores closed and photoshoots were put on hold, the traditional fashion marketing playbook no longer applied.
The challenge wasn't simply replacing content—it was finding new ways to keep the brand present in customers' lives while the world around them had fundamentally changed.
The opportunity was to rethink not only what content looked like, but who created it.
The Idea
BCBG initially launched BCBGATHOME as a series of Instagram Live conversations designed to bring value and connection to customers during lockdown.
As the program evolved, a larger opportunity emerged.
Rather than relying exclusively on brand-created content, we shifted toward a creator-led model—partnering with influencers to share authentic moments wearing BCBG in their own homes and on their own terms.
The result was a more relatable, scalable and sustainable approach to content creation that reflected how people were actually living.
Bringing It to Life
I led the evolution of BCBGATHOME from a short-term social initiative into a broader creator content strategy.
The program began with Instagram Live conversations featuring chefs, artists, trainers and other creative voices who provided inspiration and connection during lockdown.
As audience behavior shifted, we expanded the concept by activating influencers to create original content from home, generating a continuous stream of authentic lifestyle imagery that could be leveraged across social channels and broader marketing initiatives.
Rather than producing every asset internally, the brand began building a library of creator-generated content that reflected real customers, real homes and real moments.
The Impact
BCBGATHOME became more than a response to an unexpected moment—it transformed the brand's approach to content creation.
The initiative was recognized by Dash Hudson as a case study in innovative social engagement during the pandemic while demonstrating the value of creator-generated content as a long-term marketing asset.
More importantly, it reinforced a belief that continues to shape my approach today: the strongest brands adapt not only their messaging, but the way they create and share stories.
Looking Back
Periods of disruption often create the greatest opportunities for innovation.
By embracing creator-led storytelling and shifting from polished brand content to authentic community content, BCBG stayed culturally relevant while building a more flexible content model for the future.
The experience reinforced a lesson I've carried throughout my career: when customer behavior changes, the brands willing to rethink their approach are the ones that continue to earn attention.
