Transforming Retail into an Ongoing Brand Experience

The strongest retail stores aren't just places to shop—they're places where people connect with a brand. Through a series of recurring activations, partnerships and community events, Sanctuary's Beverly Hills flagship became an extension of the brand itself.

The Opportunity

A flagship shouldn't only drive transactions.

It should create reasons for customers to return, strengthen relationships with creators and editors, generate earned content and deepen brand affinity within the local community.

The opportunity wasn't to launch a store.

It was to activate it.

The Strategy

Rather than treating retail as a static environment, I developed an ongoing experiential marketing strategy that introduced fresh reasons to engage with the brand month after month.

The programming was intentionally designed to reach multiple audiences—from loyal customers and local communities to editors, tastemakers and creators—while reinforcing Sanctuary's positioning as a modern lifestyle brand.

Each activation became both a physical experience and a source of content, extending the brand well beyond the store itself.

Featured Experiences

Allison Bornstein Styling & Conversation

Hosted an intimate evening with renowned stylist Allison Bornstein, bringing together approximately 30 editors, creators and tastemakers for an exclusive conversation on personal style followed by private shopping.

The event positioned Sanctuary within a culturally relevant conversation while strengthening relationships with influential voices who authentically aligned with the brand.

Summer Gelato Cart Activation

Transformed the storefront into a community destination with a branded gelato cart, inviting both customers and passersby to engage with Sanctuary in an approachable, memorable way.

The activation increased foot traffic while generating highly shareable social content and reinforcing the brand's relaxed California lifestyle.

In-Store Embroidery Experiences

Introduced personalized embroidery events that encouraged customers to customize their purchases, creating a more meaningful retail experience while increasing dwell time and customer engagement.

Ongoing Community Programming

Developed a cadence of recurring retail activations designed to keep the flagship culturally relevant beyond its grand opening and establish it as a destination for both loyal customers and new audiences.

The Impact

Rather than relying on a single launch event, Sanctuary's experiential strategy transformed the flagship into an ongoing expression of the brand.

Each activation created new opportunities for customer engagement, earned content and community connection while reinforcing Sanctuary's premium positioning in one of the country's most influential retail markets.

Why It Worked

The strongest retail experiences don't begin with a transaction.

They begin with a reason to gather.

By creating programming that felt authentic to the brand—and valuable to the community—the flagship became more than a store. It became a place where customers, creators and editors could experience Sanctuary in ways that extended far beyond shopping.

Looking Back
